ISVEE 10 Session Moderators
ISVEE 10 Session Moderators

Moderator Duties

It is extremely important that each of the 5 parallel sessions begins and ends exactly on time.

Moderators should meet with their speakers and the student assistants (see below) the day before their session, immediately following the last presentation of that (previous) day, in the room of the presentation, to demonstrate use of audiovisual materials and review organizational details.

Each session has one monitor, who is responsible for ensuring that oral presentations (12 minutes) begin and end exactly on time, and for the question/ answer session, 3 minutes following each presentation. After each presentation there will be 2 minutes for members of the audience to change rooms if they wish.

Two student assistants wearing ISVEE10 shirts will be present in each session, and are at the disposition of the session moderator. They will have mobile microphones for audience members asking questions during the discussion period.

If a speaker is not present, then a recess should be declared during the time that speaker would have presented. If a presentation fails, it will not be allowed to proceed beyond the time allocated.
