There is a wide distribution of public telephones in the city, for which it is wise to buy telephone calling cards or to have on hand coins of $100 pesos (US$0.17 aprox.). To call cecular phones $200 pesos (US $0.34 aprox.).

Chile has one of the most modern telecommunications networks in the world. This system has been completely digitised for several years.
From Chile, international phone calls are cheap and the service efficient. All of the downtown malls have calling centers where one may obtain information about telephone services; make phone calls, including collect calls; purchase prepaid calling cards; and select a carrier.

Cellular Phones.

Cellular telephones are used extensively and can be rented. You may solicit information about this service in your hotel.

Internet.

Chile has very developed communications services. Some hotels offer these services in their business centers. Also one may check email accounts or surf the Internet from any of many Cybercafes in the city.
